Lakelands Swim School

Lakelands families won’t be traveling far for swimming lessons anymore, after the Lakelands swimming pool opened it’s doors to the public on Saturday.

The WestSwim Lakelands heated pool will offer swimming classes for children aged three-months or older, as well as seniors, multi-class, adult learn-to-swim and school students in the area.

Swimming WA chief operating officer Geoff Reid said this was the first facility in the state to have ledges for swimmers to stand on, circling the entire pool.

The Swim School would feature a 25m long concrete pool along with changing facilities housed in a highly architecturally design building envelope using concrete and steel and over-clad with metal cladding to show off the building’s angled elevations.

The interior would optimise the feel of space with a vaulted type ceiling to the main pool area and would be air-conditioned and cater for parents with internal and exterior seating and a retail outlet for Swim WA.
